Passed away peacefully with family by his side at LHSC – University Hospital on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at the age of 72. Beloved husband of the late Gerty (Schaafsma) Quick (2022). Loving dad of Tim and Christy Quick, Mike and Danielle Quick, and Bob and Stephanie Quick. Proud Papa of Jillian, Anderson; Rileigh (Josh), Brady (Savannah), Mason; Samantha, and Nathen and Papa G of Skyla, and Olivia. Dear brother of Charlotte (Doug), and Mary Lou (Don) and brother-in-law of Tys (Patty), Freda (Clyde), the late Jane (Mark), Mike (Patsy), Steve (Freda), Jim (Kathy), Yvonne (Scott), and Allan (Corry). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Russell and Irene Quick.
Dave will be remembered as a hardworking and devoted family man. A long-haul truck driver for many years, he logged countless miles across the countryside, always working to provide for those he loved. In his quieter moments, he enjoyed spending time fishing, though he was quick to joke that he never caught anything big enough to require a net. Above all else, Dave’s greatest pride and purpose was his family. Every decision he made and every mile he travelled was done with them in mind.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held at the Fanshawe Conservation Area, Watson Porter Pavillion, 1424 Clarke Road, LONDON on Sunday, August 16th from 1 – 4 PM, with words of remembrance at 2:30 PM.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

I first met Dave a couple of years before Covid when he applied to become a shuttle driver with Enterprise, but did not get to really know him until about 2022, when I started driving regularly with he and Bob Bennett. I can’t remember an occupation I enjoyed more, in large part to Dave, our “Chase” driver. Though it was only 2 days a week, it was largely 8 hours of laughter and enjoyment. We suffered through Gertie’s health issues with him, offering what we could in comfort. It was obvious what a great relationship they had. I started having lung issues a couple of years ago, but never considered giving up driving for Enterprise, in large part to the fun we had, often at each others’ expense. He was very giving and did everything he could for me to ease the effort required to do the job- helping with snow in the winter and minimizing my walking requirements the rest of the year. Bob has stepped in an followed Dave’s lead regarding my work, but no one could ever replace the fun Dave brought to the workplace. We were privileged to occasionally hear his interaction with his sons on speaker phone while he drove and obviously had a great relationship with the boys. He had a large personality that will not soon be forgotten. Thanks Dave for how much better my life has been in knowing you. You will be greatly missed
Our Deepest Condolences to all of Dave’s family and friends, a man that always had a smile no matter what.
R.I.P Dave with your Beautiful wife Gerty.
You both will be miss by all who loved you.
