Passed away at LHSC – University Hospital, London on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the age of 77. Cherished father of Janine Alonso (Cameron Miller) and Meghan Alonso (David Benitez). Adored Tata Leo of Rafael. Leo will be fondly remembered by his family in Chile and abroad, as well as by the mother of his children, Michelle Alonso.
Proud of his Chilean roots and Canadian home, Leo loved golfing, travelling the world, cheering on Manchester City F.C., and never passed up ice cream or chocolate.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at LHSC – University Hospital for the care and compassion provided to Leo during his stay

In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Leo would be appreciated by the family.

I’m just heartbroken to hear this news. I spent the last several years golfing with Leo and loved every minute. I also enjoyed chatting after golf on many mutual interests. He will be very, very sorely missed.
We will miss you Leo in the 18 Cadeau Terrace condo community, you were such an asset to our board, I know you loved desserts any meeting at his home I always took some sweets for Leo. Condolences to your family. Ron & Bev Austin.

I will miss you Leo. Over the past 15 years, countless rounds of golf, thousands of heated discussions, numerous trips to Foregolfers, we have totally explored the human condition. Leo was a man of dignified principles, intelligent, and possessed of a skill with all things electronic, phones, internet and computers. And he loved a cup of good coffee.
