Passed away peacefully at Craigwiel Gardens on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the age of 75. Loving eldest son of the late Zillah Edith Briars and the late Robert John Briars Sr. Deeply missed by his siblings, Sue Reeve and Andy Briars, and by his brother-in-law, Jim Reeve. Predeceased by his sister, Heather Kilcourse.
Bob’s family is incredibly proud of his 30-plus years of sobriety. He often spoke of it as a “daily struggle,” one he met with strength, determination, and the steadfast support of his friends in AA. His perseverance and honesty were an inspiration to those who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank the staff of Craigwiel Gardens for their care and compassion in making a true home for Bob.

I often saw Bob at Craigwiel when I visited my mom. Bob was always friendly and would stop to chat. He was a sweet man and I will miss seeing him at Craigwiel.
