Our mom, Shirley Lantz, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026 at the age of 95 and a half. Beloved wife of the late Don Lantz (2010) for 57 years. Loving mother of Jeff (Cheryl), Steve (Dianne), and the late Judith. Proud grandma of 4 and great-grandma of 2. Married Don Lantz (predeceased in 2010) in June 1953.
Shirley graduated from Western with a Bachelor of Arts in General Arts in 1952. Shirley loved to sing and dance. She was a performer with and sometimes did choreography for the Sarnia Glee Club. She sang second soprano in a Sweet Adelines chorus and was a tenor in her own quartet. Shirley sold real estate in Sarnia and always tried to match the house to the buyer, rather than pushing a sale. Don loved boating, Shirley loved golf and sometimes they would indulge each other’s interest. Shirley much preferred to keep her feet on solid ground as a keen gardener. Shirley was a member of the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club. A bit of a nighthawk, the only thing that would get her up early was an early tee time. After Don’s passing, she kept active with golf, bowling, exercise classes and singing. Shirley moved to London to be closer to family, first living with her brother Larry and his wife Jean, and then with Jeff and Cheryl.
Keeping with Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Extendicare London for their compassionate care during her time with them.

We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 6 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Grand Bend, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $3/km (one way travel only).

I had the pleasure of teaching Shirley fitness classes at the S.G.C.C. Her dancing ability was clearly evident as she made every move look beautiful. She was always positive with a smile on her face. As I recall she loved when my music included anything Glen Miller and Stompin Tom Connors “Tillsonburg” I really enjoyed her. I am certain she will be missed by many and forever loved.
