REABURN: Chris of Woodstock

Reaburn, Chris W300

It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of Chris on Tuesday September 5, 2023 at the age of 57. Cherished soulmate of Tammi (Wharry) Reaburn for over 30 years. Proud father of Adrienne. Missing him desperately are his furkids Sassafras, Foster, Bronco, Tank, Aspen and Odin.

Loving son of Sheila (Robertson) and the late Bob (2014) Reaburn of Exeter.  Dear brother and brother-in-law of Jeff (Cindy) Reaburn of Waterloo, Paul Reaburn (Rita Cary) of Toronto, Deana Drost (Peter Sweiger) of Chesley, and Cherie Reaburn of Calgary. Predeceased by his brother Joe Reaburn, sister-in-law Patricia Reaburn and brother-in-law Ken Govers. Chris is fondly remembered by his in-laws Dianne and Wayne More, the Wharry, More and McLeod families as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Everyone who knew him, loved him.

Chris fiercely loved his family and enjoying Disney and Grand Cayman with them. He enjoyed all living creatures and loved to cheer on his Cowboys and Leafs.

Words cannot describe our gratitude to the Oxford County Paramedics, Dr. Michelle Korvemaker and the Woodstock Hospital ER, Dr. Karen Bosma, Dr. Anton Nikouline and their team at UH MSICU for their exceptional care of our beloved Chris. We would also like to thank Dr. Lynn Bergin and Dr. Caroline Bryk for their care of Chris over many years.

Melissa and Fred Anjema & Rob and Erin Griffith, we would not have made it through these harrowing days without you. So many great memories to treasure.

At his specific request, there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place and cremated remains will be scattered to the many places Chris loved and cherished.

In lieu of flowers, celebrate Chris and his love of all animals with a donation to the Humane Society London & Middlesex. Upon completion of their new building, a memorial dog kennel will be dedicated to Chris.

What a wonderful gift to the world Chris was. This past year of reconnecting has given us so many fond memories. We will miss his sharp wit and his sense of humour. We always wish there was more time but oh the times we had!

Your love for Chris will last this lifetime and beyond. The strength you both had in his final week was astounding. Every move made was putting him first, even if it meant you knew he would leave this earth. That is the purest most selfless form of love there is. Grief is the price we pay for love and we share in that grief with you.

Chris, on to the next adventure. Look in on us and send us a laugh every now and again. So long our beautiful friend, until me meet again.

    With love,

    Melissa and Fred

Dear Tammi & Adrienne, Sheila & family, Aunt Dianne & Uncle Wayne and family and to all who knew and loved Chris,
We are so very sorry for your great loss.
I remember being in Joe’s class at school when Chris was born … the joy and then caution as we learned of his health issues. Much later, I recall Chris working a summer survey job at the Hensall Village Walk and thinking what a joy that he was doing so well. I had no idea that not long after, he would meet our cousin Tammi and become not just a fine young man hailing from Hensall, but family. <3 What JOY when Adrienne was born . We loved to hear about and see the many pictures of their family trips and fur babies.
Giving Thanks for the life and love that was Chris Reaburn. Sending big virtual hugs and wishing you all peace. <3
