Peacefully, with his family by his side, our beloved husband, father and grandad passed on April 15, 2025.
David was born in Radcliffe, England, but as an infant moved to Edinburgh, Scotland. It was there he met his wife Isobel and they started their family. In 1974 they immigrated to Canada with their two daughters. Dad always loved to tell stories of his childhood and about Scotland.
Dave leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Isobel; his daughters Sharon (Rich) and Kirsty (late Ron); his grandchildren Charlotte (Callum), Gillian (Andrew), Carson (Taylor), Nathan, and Ben; his sisters, the late Averil (Ian) of Scotland, Mavis (Russ), and his nephews and niece both of Scotland and Canada.
David was a quiet man who loved to fish, golf, read, travel, do crosswords, tinker in the shed, cheer on his football team (Manchester United and the Hearts), and listen to a wide variety of music – especially his LPs. He made lifelong friends on both sides of the pond. Most of all he loved being with his family. Granda was involved in all aspects of his grandchildren’s lives. Attending all of their activities and quietly videotaping each one of them. He has left us a lifetime of memories.
The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and medical teams who have been a part of this journey.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of David’s life will be held Saturday May 3rd, 2025 at the White Oaks United Church located at 1901 Jalna Boulevard, LONDON from 1 PM – 3:30 PM. Friends and family are invited to share stories, laughter, and memories in honour of a man who meant so much to us!
Dear Mavis.
Bill and I are so sorry to hear of your brother’s passing. You and Russell are in our thoughts and prayers.
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of “Wee Davey”. This kind, gentle man was always smiling, laughing, or joking whether at work or on the golf course. He will be missed.

Always liked Dave and Family. A happy guy with a well lived life.
I would just like to say I worked with Dave 23 years at GM diesel, and a shift didn’t go by that we didn’t have fun, Dave was a great person that gave great advice, as a young gun working there he made you feel you were part of the team I’ll miss you buddy
Will miss you uncle Dave. Happy memories of you taking me golfing and fishing in Canada. Listening to your 8 track music and making us all laugh with your quick wit. I hope mum is looking after her wee brother now. Thoughts with Isobel, Sharon and Kirsty and all the extended family from across the pond. xx
I was born in Scotland but raised in Canada leaving family across the pond. Dave and Isobel were the family I grew up with knowing them as “aunt and uncle”. I have many memories with uncle Davy over the years all of which involve him joking around and living life with a smile on his face. I will miss him very much.
Kirsten: My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family. Words are never enough but just know I’m sending lots of love your way. Denise
My sincere condolences to Isabel, Sharon, Kirsty and family. Dave was like a older brother to me, and thank God we managed to have some time together last summer. I wish the family strength, courage and love, I will miss you bro, love John
Brilliant storyteller, jokester and general mischief maker. Very much loved, deeply missed.
