Passed away peacefully at home in Chelsey Park Retirement Community on October 6, 2022 at the age of 97. While she will be missed by all, we are thankful that she is again in the arms of her beloved husband of 38 years, the late Kenneth Allen Pollard (1984).
Cherished mother of Doug Pollard of BC, Ross (Joanne) Pollard of CA, Jim (Pat) Pollard of BC, Judith Edmison of BC, John Pollard of BC, Teresa and Dean Streefkerk of London. Adored grandma of (13) and great grandma to (12).
Treasured sister and sister-in-law of Eileen Walsh and the late Lester (Les) Walsh of Toronto.
Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews as well as every one of her cherished extended Pollard and Bullen family members.
Predeceased by parents Albert and Kathleen Bullen as well as brother’s Jack and Owen Bullen.
Dearly missed by all of those that Mary worked with at Canada Trust in London and especially by Mary’s longtime, and best friend, Roberta Deslauriers.
Mary was devoted to her family and loved each and every one dearly. She was caring and loving with everyone she met including neighbors and strangers as was evident by her lifelong commitment to volunteering within her community at meals on wheels, Hospice and St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Mary will be remembered as an avid sports fan and enthusiast. Her love of family and sports ensured that Mary was always in attendance any time one of her children or grandchildren were participating. This passion continued into her later years in London with countless hours spent on the sidelines watching and cheering on McKenzie and Adam Streefkerk, regardless of the sport, season, location or time commitment. The memories of her smiling face and congratulatory hug after every event will forever be remembered and cherished.
Mary’s Catholic faith was an essential part of her life, she loved the Lord, her family, and was devoted to St. Anthony for her daily prayer.
A special thanks to all the caregivers and staff at Chelsey Park Retirement Community for their dedication and care of Mary.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family in lieu of flowers.
