TIMMS: Karen (Frank) of London

Timms, Karen W300

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Karen. Karen Marguerite (Frank) Timms passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Victoria Hospital on Wednesday September 17, 2025 at the age of 75. Beloved mom of Lisa (Sean) and Melanie, and cherished step mom of Trevis (Gina). Loving nanny of Maxwell, George and Harvey and step nanny of Emily, Calvin (Mckenzie) and Jacob (Holly). Karen was predeceased by her parents Polly and Bob Frank, and her sister Susie Frank. She is also fondly remembered by her former husband and father of her children, John Timms. She will be deeply missed by her sisters Linda (Alex), Bobbi and Cathy. As well as by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Karen treasured the friendships she built throughout her life – from high school to her career and beyond. Her lifelong friends Wendy Norton and Vickie Carter, who stood beside her since their teenage years, were a constant source of love and support through every chapter of her life.

Karen was a loving, kind, intelligent, and funny woman with a strong will, firm opinions and beliefs, and a huge heart. Throughout her time with us she touched many lives with her caring smile and infectious laugh.

Of all her roles, Karen’s greatest joy and most important purpose was being a mom to Lisa and Melanie. She gave herself fully to motherhood and cherished every moment. Alongside raising her family, she built a successful career in banking, beginning with Canada Trust and later becoming Vice President of Credit Card Fraud at Citibank Canada—a position she held with pride and dedication.

A special thank you to the team at the McCormick Adult Day Program as well as to Dr Malik and the palliative care team at Victoria Hospital.

A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Saturday November 8, 2025 from 1 – 4 PM with words of remembrance at 2:30 PM. Guests are encouraged to bring a written story or memory of Karen to leave with the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Karen’s memory to the McCormick Care Foundation, Happy’s Place Retirement Home for Dogs or a charity of your choice.

    Dear Mel,

While it was lovely running into you last autumn, I was very sorry to hear about your mum’s illness. I hope you can take solace in the additional time you took to spend with her in the last couple of years.
Thinking of you and your family.

Karen was a beautiful funny and witty young woman. If I pulled a prank on her she would get me back double. If I gave her a shot she had a comeback within two seconds. She always made me feel so positive just by being around her. We had some interesting times at the 3 Little Pigs 🐷. She will be so dearly missed by everyone that knew her. Rest in peace Karen.

It must be evident to you from the number of Citi/CT employees who have submitted messages how much your Mom was admired and respected…she was a true mentor to so many! Karen was witty, funny, smart and a joy to work for. Everyone always knew where they stood with her! And I know we all have our own special memories of her.
Keep yours close to your hearts…your Mom always spoke so highly of you both and proudly displayed your pictures in her office over the many years.
Karen will be missed by so many❤️

Lisa and Melanie – I worked with your Mom for numerous years at Canada Trust and Citi. We also kept in touch over the years meeting for dinners. Karen was a smart and intelligent woman who knew her business. You had to be sharp working with her and that’s what I appreciated about her. I always remember her quick humour when we would get together daily for our management meetings. We had lots of laughs together. My condolences to you both and your families. RIP Karen.

I’m saddened by this news. Karen was my manager at Canada Trust and as we transitioned to Citi. She was a fierce mentor and I learned an incredible amount about leadership from her. I’m indebted to her for lifting my career. Her memory will be eternal and my thoughts and prayers are with her family.
